This service consists of a set of professional assistances to the ship's captain, done by the pilot.

The pilot is the professional who directs, controls and chooses the safest routes for a vessel close to the coast, or in restricted area, unknown by the ship's captain. The pilot should know in detail the waters upon which he/she works, as well as local geography, operating weather factors and current information regarding vessel traffic.

The boats are used to take the pilot to the vessel which will perform the maneuver (docking or undocking).
