The internal port has a depth of 15.5m. Its internal navigation canal is 1500m long and 450m wide.

There is a 300m opening at the entrance of the internal port to allow access for the ships. There are 935m of docks at three berths, all with depths of 15.5m. A total of R$ 192 million was applied to the construction within the investment scope of the "Brazil in Action" program of the federal government for the Suape Port.

The second and third berths together have 660m of extension and serve the Private Container Terminal, whose operations began in 2001. This terminal has an area of 290,000m² and a capacity to move up to 400,000 TEUs per year.

The first berth is 275m long is also in operation. It is a public dock destined for multiple use. A forth berth is as yet in construction phase. It will be 330m long and 15.5m deep, and will house the future Solid Granary Terminal of the Suape Port. A fifth berth will also be 330m long and is currently under study to verify its viability.

The internal port has the capacity to develop at least a further 15km of docking piers. The area also has a vehicle patio of 56,700m² with a static capacity for storing 4,825 vehicles.
