The Suape Port and Industrial Complex
is the most complete shipping hub in the
Northeast Region of Brazil for the location
of port and industrial businesses. With
a complete infrastructure to fulfill the
needs of the most diverse enterprises,
Suape has been attracting an increasing
number of companies that are interested
in either placing their products in the
regional market or exporting to other countries.
The geographical position of Pernambuco
in the center of the Northeast Region makes
Suape the perfect cargo hub and distribution
center. The location also makes the Suape
Port ideal as an international hub port
for the whole of South America.
Over 70
companies have either been installed or
are in their implementation phase at the
Industrial Complex, representing investments
to the order of US$ 1.7 billion. In addition
to the reliable infrastructure, these companies
receive fiscal incentives offered by the
state and municipal governments in order
to stimulate the generation of jobs and
enhance the regional economy.
In a planned
strategy of international shipowners, Suape
has come to be seen as a port on the Atlantic
Coast of South America that can carry out
the operations of “transhipment” – the
transference of large ship cargo (4 th
generation containers) to the port facilities
and reload them onto smaller ships.
The
hub is a deep-water port with electricity,
water, telecommunications and natural gas
networks installed throughout the complex
and offers transport multi-modality with
internal roads and railways.
