Port Authority Council

The Port Authority Council (CAP) is an advisory organ of the port's administration, established in each port and organized by means of the article #20 of the Law #12,815, from July 5th, 2013, with the competences set in the article #36 of the Decreet #8033, from June 27th, 2013.

CAP is formed by three groups: public authority, entrepreneurs and port employees, which have full and alternate members, reuniting periodically to propose port policies. The first group is formed by representatives of the Secretariat of Ports of the Presidency, Suape Port's Administration, Anvisa, the Brazilian Navy, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (Mapa), Ipojuca's Prefecture, and the Federal Revenue. The second group is formed by Suape's bonded warehouses and leasing tenants. And, finally, representatives of independent port employees and leasing tenants (dockers, conferees, among others).

It is the Port Authority Council's duty to propose revisions to the port exploration regulation; alterations to the port's zoning and development plan; actions to promote rationalization and optimization of port installations' use; measures to promote industrial and commercial action within the port; actions with the goal to develop mechanisms to attract cargo; measures that aim to stimulate competitiveness; and other measures and actions of interest to the port.
